perfection
Christ will reign with righteousness, restoring justice and peace. His Spirit transforms hearts, ending hatred and division. Isaiah 2:4 promises a world without war. True peace will only begin as people submit to God’s love, truth, and mercy.
God’s Original Plan and the First Lie That Changed Everything
God’s original plan for the earth was simple and beautiful. He created a perfect world filled with peace, abundance, and harmony. People were meant to live forever, care for the planet, and reflect God’s qualities. There was no death, no suffering—only joy and purpose.
“God saw all that he had made, and look! it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)
The First Lie and the Fall of Humanity
Everything changed when one of the most powerful angels rebelled. This angel, later called Satan, introduced the world’s first lie. Speaking through a serpent, he told Eve that she wouldn’t die if she disobeyed God when He said,
“You may surely eat from every tree of the garden, but of the tree of knowledge of good and bad, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it, you will surely die.” – Genesis 2:16, 17
He claimed she could be like God, deciding right and wrong for herself.
“At this, the serpent said to the woman: “You certainly will not die.” (Genesis 3:4)
“God knows that in the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God.” (Genesis 3:5)
This deception led Adam and Eve to sin. Their choice brought pain, separation from God and death. The perfect world was broken—not by accident, but by a direct challenge to God’s authority.
Hope in God’s Unchanging Purpose
Despite this tragedy, God’s purpose remains unchanged. He promised to restore the earth and remove the effects of that first lie. The Bible points to a future in which people will live in peace again under God’s loving rule.
“He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” (Revelation 21:4)
God’s plan hasn’t failed—it’s still unfolding. And every promise He makes, He keeps, because “… it is impossible for God to lie.” —Hebrews 6:18
“19 God is not a mere man who tells lies, Nor a son of man who changes his mind. When he says something, will he not do it? When he speaks, will he not carry it out?” —Numbers 23:19
