A broken world

seeking justice in a broken world

When we seek justice and hope for real change, we can’t ignore the state of the world’s systems. Each of us must consider our place within these institutions.

The Failing State of Human Rule

Society’s repeated failures aren’t just temporary setbacks—they align with Bible prophecies marking this as the final phase of a corrupt era. The Bible warned, “Wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse, misleading and being misled.”

—2 Timothy 3:13

This chapter vividly describes what Scripture calls “the last days.”

—2 Timothy 3:1

With so much corruption exposed and leaders failing to meet basic needs, ancient words still resonate:

“To earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”

—Jeremiah 10:23

Human rule, independent of God, has repeatedly proven incapable of solving life’s biggest problems.

The Unseen Influence Behind Corruption

A key reason for widespread wrongdoing in high places is Satan the Devil, called “the god of this system of things.”

—2 Corinthians 4:4

He is the deceptive spirit who first turned people away from God. Temporarily permitted to rule, Jesus referred to him as “the ruler of the world.”

—John 14:30

By allowing Satan and rebellious people to lead, God has demonstrated whether humans can govern successfully without Him. History and current events confirm—human rule fails every time.

The Coming End of a Broken System

Scandals like Watergate and countless leadership failures reveal two truths. First, they expose Satan as the true ‘ruler of this world’—his lies and cruelty reflected in human actions.

—John 8:44

Second, they signal we are nearing the time when God will abolish all corrupt rule.

God’s Promise of a Better Future

What will happen to today’s failed leaders and their crumbling systems? Daniel prophesied:

“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms [in power today], and it itself will stand to times indefinite.”

—Daniel 2:44

Soon, God’s Kingdom under Christ’s righteous rule will replace this unjust system. Human and demonic governance will vanish forever, replaced by a leader who truly cares—Jesus Christ.

—Isaiah 11:3-5; Hebrews 4:14, 15

This is why we should all care—because real change is coming, and it starts with recognising where true hope lies.
