Inequality: Did the Creator Intend It?

In a nutshell, no. The Bible presents life as a fair gift, not a rigged system.

‘God went on to say: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every moving animal that is moving upon the earth.”‘ ,(Genesis, 1, 26)

‘God saw everything he had made and, look! it was very good.’ ,(Genesis, 1, 31)

That doesn’t match the pain and injustice that people are having to live with now. The Bible also says the Creator is loving and impartial.

‘God is love.’ ,(1 John, 4, 8)

‘For Jehovah your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awe-inspiring, who treats none with partiality nor accepts a bribe.’ ,(Deuteronomy, 10, 17)

‘The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; Righteous and upright is he.’ ,(Deuteronomy, 32, 4)

‘There is no partiality with God.’ ,(Job, 34, 19)

At this Peter began to speak, and he said: “Now I truly understand that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. “(Acts 10: 34, 35)

So, built-in inequality was never the plan. Systems that crush dignity clash with the Creator’s character.

The Root of Inequality

Equality before the Creator doesn’t mean everyone is the same. People differ in ability, interests, and responsibility. Even in the first family, roles differed, yet dignity didn’t.

‘Jehovah God said: “It is not good for the man to continue to be alone. I am going to make a helper for him, as a complement of him.”‘ ,(Genesis, 2, 18)

Likewise, spirit sons had different assignments, yet all could enjoy life within the place given them. Trouble began when a spirit rebel wanted more and pushed humans towards distrust and greed.

‘And the great dragon was hurled down, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.’ ,(Revelation, 12, 9)

As a result, human society moved further from the original purpose, and unfairness spread.

Will Things Ever Change?

Human efforts can help, but they don’t fix the cause. The Bible says the Creator will carry out his purpose, and it won’t fail.

10 For just as the rain and the snow pour down from the heavens and do not return there until they have saturated the earth, making it produce and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight, and it will have sure success in what I send it to do.’ ,(Isaiah 55: 10, 11)

That promise points to a future where people will live with equal dignity, real security, and a fair chance at happiness, in line with the Kingdom hope taught by the Messiah, Jesus!

conclusion

Humanity’s systems will always reproduce inequality because they’re built on flawed power structures. No policy can fully repair what’s broken. Only God can transform the human heart and create the justice and equality our efforts can never achieve.
