Created With Purpose: Seeing God’s Hand in Our World

Many people today look to theories like the Big Bang or evolution to explain how the world began. These ideas attempt to describe the mechanics of the universe, but they cannot speak to the heart behind it. Scripture begins with a far more personal truth: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Creation is not an accident — it is an act of love.

We’re told that “the heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1). Every sunrise, every star, every living creature reflects intention, beauty, and design. Paul writes that God’s invisible qualities “have been clearly seen… from what has been made” (Romans 1:20). Creation itself is evidence of a Creator. Nothing about this world points to randomness. Everything points to purpose.

Scripture goes further: “All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16). The universe is not just engineered — it is meaningful. Even the smallest cell reveals craftsmanship. Even the vast galaxies obey laws that reflect order and intelligence. Science can describe how things work, but it cannot explain why they exist. Faith answers the deeper questions.

The most astonishing truth is that humanity stands at the centre of God’s creative work. We are made “in His image” (Genesis 1:27), intentionally formed, deeply known, and eternally loved.

God declares, “I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). You are not here by chance. You exist because God wanted you here.

Science and faith are not enemies. Scripture says, “It is the glory of God to keep a matter secret, And the glory of kings is to search through a matter.” (Proverbs 25:2). Discovery leads to worship. Understanding leads to profound admiration.

Creation points us to God. Our lives point others to Him. And that is the purpose we were made for.
