where can we find the answers?
Look back through history, and it’s pretty clear: no matter what kind of government we try—monarchies, democracies, or anything in between—humans just can’t seem to figure out lasting peace and security. Wars, division, and corruption keep repeating like a broken record.
The crazy thing is, the answers have actually been around for a long time. They’re built on timeless moral truths and spiritual wisdom that put human flourishing over political power. But most people don’t know where to look, and when someone points them in the right direction, they usually push back.
So why do we reject the very things that could help us?
- We’re hooked on self-reliance: We love to believe we can fix things ourselves. Placing trust in human institutions feels safer or more logical, even when those systems fail us over and over.
- It asks too much of us: Real solutions usually require humility, personal responsibility, and a change of heart. It’s a lot easier to vote for someone promising quick fixes than it is to look in the mirror and adjust how we live.
- We’re conditioned to look to leaders: From a young age, we’re taught that politicians, experts, and laws are the only “real” ways to govern. Traditional or spiritual wisdom gets dismissed as outdated or impractical.

Ultimately, living in a society where everyone simply does as they please creates a cold, isolated environment, proving that material self-gain is a poor substitute for genuine connection and shared purpose.
