how did we get here?

It is perhaps the oldest question in human history, and yet, for all our technological advancement and academic achievement, there are still debates about the answer. Where did we come from? Before we can begin to answer that honestly, we must first agree on a standard of proof. If we are serious about finding the truth, we must insist on verified, observable facts — not popular assumptions dressed up as established science. Two of the most widely taught theories, the so-called “big bang” and the idea that human beings descended from apes, remain entirely unproven. They are merely hypotheses — starting points for enquiry at the very best, not conclusions supported by repeatable, demonstrable evidence.

Everything Has a Maker

Consider the world around us for a moment. Every car on the road was designed and built by engineers. Every house standing on every street was conceived by an architect and constructed by skilled tradespeople. Every book ever written had an author, and every painting ever hung on a wall had an artist. We accept without question that complexity requires a creator. We would never look at a finely engineered bridge and conclude that it assembled itself over millions of years through random chance.

And yet, even when faced with something infinitely more complex — the human eye, the structure of DNA, the precise conditions that make Earth capable of sustaining life — some are still willing to make exactly that argument!

The logical and evidential case points unmistakably in one direction… everything that exists was made by someone.

“Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.”

(Hebrews 3:4)

A Creation With a Creator

The Earth itself is a masterpiece of engineering that no human mind could replicate. Its distance from the sun, the composition of its atmosphere, the water cycle, the complexity of living cells — every detail speaks to deliberate, intelligent design. Across cultures and throughout history, people have looked at the natural world and arrived at the same intuitive conclusion… this was made. The scriptural account of creation does not ask us to take a leap of blind faith. It asks us to open our eyes and look honestly at what is already in front of us.

“For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable.”

(Romans 1:20)

We Were Given a Manual

Here is something that sets humanity apart from every other theory of accidental origin… we were given instructions. No one leaves a car without a handbook, and no responsible builder hands over a house without guidance on how to maintain it. In precisely the same way, our Creator did not leave us to figure out life alone. The Bible stands as that manual — a comprehensive guide covering relationships, purpose, mental wellbeing, moral boundaries, and our ultimate future. Written across centuries by dozens of contributors, it maintains a consistency and depth that continues to astonish people worldwide.

“All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness.”

(2 Timothy 3:16)

The Honest Answer

The most intellectually honest answer to the question of our origins is also the most straightforward one… we were created, by a Creator who cared enough to make us, sustain us, and leave us everything we need to understand why we are here. The evidence, when followed without bias, leads to that conclusion again and again.
