So there you have it…. soon, the long-promised Kingdom of God—a world government established by God—will bring lasting peace and unity across the earth. “Peace will abound” (Psalm 72:7).
assured peace will come
Everywhere we look today, moral standards are fading fast. What was once considered wrong is now accepted as “the norm” and often, even praised! Many people no longer see the need for clear values. They follow what feels right at ‘the moment‘. Yet, without firm moral direction, people lose their sense of purpose and peace.
The Bible warned that this would happen. It says:
“But know this, that in the last days, critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness.” (2 Timothy 3:1-3)
It’s clear that we are living in such times. Many no longer respect honesty, kindness, or faithfulness. Governments try to fix society’s problems, but they cannot change hearts. The Bible reminds us that human rule will never bring lasting peace. True peace comes only from Jehovah and the Kingdom that Jesus taught about.
To live well in this troubled world, we need spiritual discernment. That means seeing things as Jehovah sees them and refusing to be shaped by the world’s values. The Bible urges:
“And stop being moulded by this system of things, but be transformed by making your mind over, so that you may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
By keeping close to Jehovah, studying His Word, and living by Bible principles, we can stay strong. We don’t have to follow the world’s fading morals, no… instead, we can shine as people who love what is good and right in God’s eyes.
Why is it urgent to build faith today?
Faith is a beautiful word. But when we hear it, we should also think of another word—urgent. If we don’t have faith, we urgently need to build it. And if we do have faith, we urgently need to protect and strengthen it. Why?
Imagine walking through a huge desert. You desperately need water. When you find some, you have to shield it from the sun and refill it regularly so it lasts until you reach safety. Today, we live in a spiritual desert. Real faith—like water—is rare and dries up quickly unless we guard it and keep it topped up. Just as we can’t survive without water, we can’t survive spiritually without faith.
“The righteous one will live by reason of faith.”
(Romans 1:17)
What has Jehovah provided to help us grow in faith?
Jehovah understands how urgently we need faith and how hard it is to keep it strong. That’s why he’s given us examples to follow. He inspired Paul to write:
“Be imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
(Hebrews 6:12)
Jehovah’s organisation also encourages us to learn from faithful people—like the ones we’ve read about. So what should we do now? Two things:
- Keep strengthening our faith
- Keep our hope clearly in mind
Why is Satan a threat to our faith?
Faith has a powerful enemy—Satan. He’s turned this world into a desert that’s hostile to faith. He’s stronger than we are. But should we give up? Never! Jehovah is a true friend to anyone who wants real faith. He promises that if we stick close to Him, we can resist the Devil—and even make him run away!
“Oppose the Devil, and he will flee from you.”
(James 4:7)
We resist Satan by making time every day to build up our faith. How?
How did faithful people in the Bible build their faith?
They weren’t born with strong faith. They became proof that faith comes from Jehovah’s spirit.
“The fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith.”
(Galatians 5:22, 23)
They prayed for help, and Jehovah answered by strengthening their faith. We can do the same. Jehovah gives his spirit freely to those who ask and act in line with their prayers.
“The Father in heaven will give holy spirit to those asking him!”
(Luke 11:13)
How can we benefit more from Bible accounts?
This article only covers a few examples of strong faith. There are many more! Each account is rich with lessons. If we rush through them, we won’t build deep faith. We need to dig into the background and context. These people weren’t perfect—they had feelings like ours.
“Elijah was a man with feelings like ours.”
(James 5:17)
When we empathise with their struggles, their stories become more real and relatable.
How would Bible characters feel about our worship today?
Faith grows through action.
“Faith without works is dead.”
(James 2:26)
Imagine how thrilled Abraham would be to worship Jehovah in a Kingdom Hall, surrounded by fellow believers, hearing detailed explanations of promises he only saw from afar.
“They saw them from afar and welcomed them.”
(Hebrews 11:13)
Or think of Elijah—what if his assignment was to share comforting messages instead of confronting Baal’s prophets under a corrupt king? Wouldn’t these faithful people jump at the chance to worship Jehovah as we do today?
So let’s keep building our faith through action. As we do, we’ll feel closer to these faithful people—like friends. And soon, those friendships may become very real.
What joy awaits in Paradise?
Faithful people have always drawn strength from their hope. Do you? Imagine meeting them as they’re resurrected.
“There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”
(Acts 24:15)
What might they ask you?
They may have questions for you. Imagine telling them about the last days and how Jehovah supported his people. They’ll be moved to hear how Jehovah kept every promise.
In Paradise, these faithful people won’t just be names in a book—they’ll actually be with us. So keep making them real to you. Keep imitating their faith. May you enjoy serving Jehovah alongside them—as close friends—forever!
Will you be a modern-day Noah? OR will you carry on doing your own thing? Your life, your choice—but don’t say you weren’t warned!

“Noah warned people about the judgment that was coming upon the world. And how did they respond? Jesus, who witnessed events from heaven, later recalled the people of Noah’s day: “They took no note until the flood came and swept them all away.”—Matthew 24:39.
