The Choice… No Future or a Bright Future

Scientists say that the ‘expanding universe‘ will eventually run out of energy, grow dark, and end all life. Others believe it’ll collapse in upon itself with the same fatal result. Scientists highlight this despair by stating, “Thus, science fails to answer “the ultimate question of hope.”

Now let’s be sensible… if we credit our existence entirely to evolution—eliminating God, the Bible, and moral restraints—we also wipe out any real purpose or meaning our lives might have… we would simply become equal to ants, elephants, worms, crabgrass, cockroaches, and cats. After all, what ultimate consequence is there to an ant, a patch of crabgrass, or a human being?

Now, evolutionists, having stripped humanity of meaning, often feel pressured to invent some of their own. Many conclude their books with lacklustre speeches about the glory of being a mere rung on an evolutionary ladder. They promise that millions of years from now, this ladder will plant our descendants on some superb pinnacle of grandeur! Spoiler alert: yeah right, in your dreams!

Empty Philosophies of Evolutionists

Professor Millikan writes emotionally about the “tremendous emotional appeal” people can derive from participating in this evolutionary ascent. Similarly, geneticist Herman Muller fears the biological catastrophes that genetic mutations threaten us with, yet he still thinks they’ll evolve us to “undreamed-of heights”. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, but he doesn’t seem eager to take a bite by welcoming those mutations himself. Dobzhansky claims that our strivings to evolve upward bestow hope, dignity, and meaning on life. Really?

Now, this empty talk doesn’t comfort anyone. The book Limitations of Science, correctly points out, “Our religious impulses cannot be satisfied with anything less than a belief that life has a transcendental significance.” If our ultimate end is eternal oblivion, nothing really matters. If that’s also the final destination for our hypothetical offspring millions of years from now, their existence is equally pointless!

Through these empty philosophies, evolutionists blindly grope to quiet the inherent human need for God. They merely carve out new crutches to replace the religious ones they’ve thrown away. They simply refuse to face a harsh reality…. Either place your hope in God or relinquish hope entirely.

The Biblical Hope

In stark contrast, what’s the hope offered by God? Well, He designed the earth to last forever, to be a paradise, and to be inhabited by obedient people for eternity. People don’t design fine watches, beautiful buildings, or exquisite gardens just to destroy them, do they? Likewise, Jehovah God’s purpose in creating the world and all life upon it won’t be defeated.

” 11 I am calling a bird of prey from the sunrise, From a distant land the man to carry out my decision. I have spoken, and I will bring it about. I have purposed it, and I will also carry it out.”.

Isaiah 46:11

His deep concern for the world is shown by His decree regarding those who damage it, which is to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth”. God’s kingdom under Christ Jesus will bring about a beautiful reality….

” 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:3,4

The evolutionary alternative is entirely hopeless, offering nothing but eternal oblivion. The biblical hope promises a bright future of everlasting life in a paradise world. Everyone makes their own choice. Before you make yours, ensure you’re fully informed!
